THE HANDS OF GOD

I've been thinking about how BIG God's hands must be!
Here are some familiar lines:

He's got the while world in His hands
Into Your hands I commit my life...
The hand of the Lord was upon me....
My times are in Your hands....
The Lord's hand is not too short to save...
He who holds the seven stars in His hand
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God...

Of course, these words are referring to God's authority and power, and when we approach Him in the Name of Jesus, we know the safety and security of being a child of God.  So that is why we can live without anxiety!

Philippians 4:6-7 'Be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God.'

As we follow this instruction, something takes place - read on.....

'and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.'

Step into the power of this verse, handing your problem/concern over into the
BIG mighty hands of our heavenly Father, and experience the breathtakingly supernatural effect of His peace settling gently into your mind and heart.
IT REALLY WORKS! 

CHILDREN OF GOD 

Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be,     but we know that when He (Jesus) is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.                 1 John 3:2-3.

What a privilege to be a child of God and to possess the hope that the Bible describes as '...the anchor of our souls, both sure and steadfast and which enters the Presence behind the veil where Jesus, the forerunner, has entered for us....' (Hebrews 6:19-20).  

Picture this......a great big ship's anchor with a great big thick chain, thrown with great big strength and landing purposefully around the foot of the Cross!   THAT is what our hope in Christ looks like......  When we talk of this hope it is not the uncertain shaky little flutter in the heart, but it is a great big anchored certainty attached to the Person of Jesus.  Not a form of religion, but a living ongoing walks with me, talks with me kind of relationship.   

This ongoing partnership leads one to want to continually please our heavenly Father, which is where the purifying of ourselves comes in.  His laws and commandments are not rules we have to follow, because He has written them on our hearts - and we want to follow them, in order to demonstrate our status as children of God.  Because of the great love He has shown us in His Son.  

    

WALKING IN THE LIGHT

AVALANCHE!!

During our worship service at church today, we sang the line of a song: '.....CAUGHT UP IN GRACE LIKE AN AVALANCHE........' & immediately I was away in my mind to a little village in the Swiss Alps, where there was an approaching avalanche!  There was noise, action, you name it - but there was no fear, because the avalanche concerned the love and grace of God being poured out upon us. 
Whew!!
