WALKING IN THE LIGHT

I wonder exactly how many verses there are in the Bible relating to light?
I wonder how many songs have been written throughout the ages with the theme of light? I can think of quite a few, but I won't list them.....

1 John 2:7 tells us 
               'If we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with
               one another, & the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.'

It's not always easy to walk in the light; sometimes the slightly darker places may feel more comfortable!  BUT, look at the price we pay when we hide away in the dark - fellowship wanes and we are not cleansed from our ongoing sin.   

I'm so glad that verse 8 tells us:
              'If we confess our sins, He is faithful & just to forgive us our sins & to
               cleanse us from all unrighteousness.'

Out we pop into the light once again - cleansed from ALL unrighteousness.  Our
fellowship with the Lord is restored and our fellowship with our fellowmen is
opened up once again.

Remember that song 
            'Shine Jesus Shine, fill the world with the Father's glory'
- well I think we should sing it this way:
             'Shine, Christian, shine, fill the world ......'

Let's shine for Jesus!
